Donor FAQ's
How often may I submit grant recommendations?As often as you would like. There is no limit to the amount of grants one fund may distribute as long as you follow the Donor Advised Guidlines.
How long does it take to process my grant recommendation?Typically 1-2 weeks. Checks are processed weekly. If you recommend a grant to an organization that is not currently in our database, the process could take longer.
Is there a grant minimum? Yes. $100.
May I recommend a grant to an organization where I am a member of the board? Yes, but when doing so, be sure that no goods or services are exchanged for the grant.
May I recommend a grant in honor or in memory of someone?Of course! When you recommend a grant in honor or in memory of someone it will be indicated so in the letter that accompanies the check.
May I make a multi-year grant from my fund?No. It is CFHC policy that grants must be expended by the end of that fiscal year.
May I recommend a grant to an individual?No. Grants may only go to 501(c)3 organizations or its equivalent.
May I recommend a grant that includes a ticket to an event? No. As a donor advisor you cannot receive any incidental benefit as a result of the recommended grant.
